CORT VANOSTRAN TO HOLD TOWN HALL SERIES IN RACE FOR MISSOURI’S SECOND CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – August 20, 2018
VanOstran will hold town halls across the district before the November election
Webster Groves, MO. – Cort VanOstran, Democratic nominee for Missouri’s Second
Congressional District, will host a series of town halls spanning the district this fall.
VanOstran’s campaign centers on showing up for voters, and the series will provide the
people of the Second District the opportunity to talk about the issues that concern them
“Government accountability begins here at home, and this district deserves a representative
that is willing to engage voters in a real, honest, open, and unscripted conversation,” said
VanOstran. “Together, we can tackle these issues. I’m ready to show up and listen to every
person in this district, whether they’ve voted for me, for our current Congresswoman, or
haven’t voted for many years.”
The town halls will be open to the public and attendees will have the opportunity to ask
un-screened questions. VanOstran is committed to hearing from constituents across the
political spectrum. VanOstran’s town hall series will kick off at the Center of Clayton on Aug.
29, with the final town hall in October.
Congresswoman Wagner, who has been in office since 2013, has never held a public town
hall. In 2017, constituents convened their own town hall which Congresswoman Wagner
called “bogus” and hosted by “radical leftists.” VanOstran believes that meeting with
constituents, face-to-face, is a basic function of public service.
VanOstran is a lawyer, a teacher, and a Democratic candidate for Congress in Missouri’s
Second Congressional District.
