Webster Groves, MO. – Democratic congressional candidate Cort VanOstran announced today that he has received the endorsement of the St. Louis-Kansas City Carpenters Regional Council. The Carpenters join the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and the United Automobile, Aerospace, and Agricultural Implement of Workers of America in endorsing VanOstran in the race for Missouri’s Second Congressional District.

“In the last year, union workers have constantly fought off attacks from Jefferson City policies that strip workers of their rights. The St. Louis- Kansas City Carpenters Regional Council is proud to endorse Cort VanOstran, a candidate from a working family who understands what is at risk for union members,” said Mark Dalton, Assistant Political Director of the St. Louis- Kansas City Carpenters Regional Council. “Together, we will defeat Proposition A and protect our right to bargain for better benefits, better pay, and better conditions.”

“I am honored to be endorsed by the St. Louis- Kansas City Carpenters Regional Council, and work alongside an organization, with over 500,00 members, that is so dedicated to Missouri’s hardworking families,” said VanOstran. “Labor unions play a critical role in our state. Union families deserve a union advocate in Washington who believes that good jobs, pensions, and the middle class are worth fighting for. This year, we will stand together against Proposition A and elect a representative who fights for working families.”

VanOstran is a lawyer, a teacher, and a Democratic candidate for Congress in Missouri’s Second Congressional District.
