CORT VANOSTRAN WINS DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY FOR MISSOURI’S SECOND CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – August 7, 2018
Webster Groves, MO. – Democratic congressional candidate Cort VanOstran earned the Democratic nomination for Missouri’s Second Congressional District. VanOstran finished with more than 41 percent of the vote in a crowded primary of five candidates. VanOstran will challenge incumbent Republican Congresswoman Ann Wagner this November.
“In the last year, I have been overwhelmed by the tremendous grassroots support for our campaign. Together, we did something that our Congresswoman has refused to do in her three terms — show up. We showed up at the doors, we showed up in living rooms, and today, we showed up to the ballot box,” said VanOstran. “The unprecedented turnout we saw today is a clear indication that our district is ready for a representative who will stand up for our healthcare, protect Medicare and Social Security, and get corporate money out of our politics. November is on its way, and we’ll show up, just like we did today.”
“It was an honor to run this race alongside five other candidates, Kelli Dunaway, John Messmer, Bill Haas, Robert Hazel, and Mark Osmack, who are so devoted to serving the people of this district,”VanOstran said. “I look forward to working with them to bring new leadership to the Second District.”
